Setting up Trust Center on BigCommerce

BigCommerce manages custom domain connections through DNS. Adding a Trust Center subdomain requires one CNAME record — no theme code changes, no BigCommerce app, and no developer.

How BigCommerce connects domains

BigCommerce connects your domain by asking you to update DNS records at your registrar. Your DNS stays with your registrar — GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, etc. To add Trust Center, you add one more record at the same registrar you used to connect your BigCommerce store.

Adding the CNAME record

  1. Log in to your domain registrar
  2. Open DNS management for your store domain
  3. Add a new CNAME record:
Type: CNAME
Name: trust
Value: trustcenter.pro
TTL: Auto

Propagation typically takes 5–30 minutes.

BigCommerce and GDPR compliance

BigCommerce stores serving EU or UK customers are subject to GDPR. BigCommerce provides some built-in tools (cookie consent banner, GDPR-related checkout fields) but does not manage your privacy policy or DSAR handling. Trust Center complements BigCommerce's built-in tools by adding a comprehensive trust page, maintained policies, and a DSAR intake form.

In BigCommerce, go to Storefront → Footer Scripts or edit your theme's footer template to add a link to https://trust.yourdomain.com. Many BigCommerce themes have a "Policy Links" footer section — add Trust Center there alongside your shipping and returns policy links.

Trust Center manages your privacy policies, cookie consent, and DSARs — one platform, all your brands, always up to date.
