Shopify makes it straightforward to add custom DNS records directly from your store admin. You don't need Shopify Plus, and you don't need to install any app or edit your theme.
What you'll need
You need your domain to be managed through Shopify's DNS (i.e. you connected your domain through Shopify Domains or transferred it to Shopify). If your domain is managed externally — through GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap, or another registrar — add the CNAME record there instead using the same values below.
Adding the DNS record in Shopify
- In your Shopify admin, go to Settings → Domains
- Click your primary domain
- Select DNS settings
- Under CNAME records, click Add CNAME record
- Set Host to
trust - Set Points to to
trustcenter.pro - Click Save
Propagation
DNS changes typically propagate within 5–15 minutes on Shopify-managed domains. Once live, your trust center is available at https://trust.yourdomain.com.
Why this approach suits Shopify stores
Shopify themes are tightly controlled and can be fragile. Installing third-party compliance scripts through a theme or app can conflict with other scripts, slow page loads, and require re-testing after every theme update. A DNS-based approach sidesteps all of this — your storefront code is never touched.
Linking from your Shopify footer
Once live, add a link to your trust center in your footer navigation. In Shopify, go to Online Store → Navigation, select your footer menu, and add a link to https://trust.yourdomain.com labelled "Privacy & Legal" or "Trust Center".
